BLVR: What do you think of e-books?

MS: I hate them. It’s like making believe there’s another kind of sex. There isn’t another kind of sex. There isn’t another kind of book. A book is a book is a book. I know that’s terribly old-fashioned. I’m old, and when I’m gone they’ll probably try to make my books on all these things, but I’m going to fight it like hell.

  9. A five-minute trailer for the film adaptation of David Mitchell’sCloud Atlas.

I real wish I could experience the lead-up to this film’s release, from the perspective of librarian. I expect it to be huge. Maybe that’s just my bias, as a Mitchell fan. I want to make it huge. Tom Hanks, don’t ruin this for me!

  10. Did anyone catch Parker Posey on Louie?! Seventeen years after playing a librarian in Party Girl, she was back last night—sweater, half-rim glasses, bun and all. My heart was all aflutter. I’m hoping her performance in the two-partDaddy’s Girlfriend episodes will result in her own spinoff where we just get to watch her do booktalks for half an hour.
